How it works
A conventional hot tub heater turns electricity directly into heat, so every kilowatt you use to warm the water is a kilowatt on your bill. A heat pump uses a small amount of electricity to move heat that’s already in the air. For every unit of electricity it consumes, it can deliver four or five units of heat, which is where the saving comes from.
